They moved to Golden Valley in the fall of 1946. In 1945, they moved to land they purchased north of Dodge, North Dakota. Reinhold and Alma farmed on the homestead until October 1942, then moved to the August Wiege place just south of the Spring Creek bridge, Golden Valley (the current Roger Boehler farm). Both couples celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary together at this church. They were married on March 15, 1942, in a double wedding ceremony with Alma's brother Gottlieb Wiedrich and Agnes Mettler at St. Reinhold met his bride, Alma Wiedrich, at a dance at the Zap dance hall. Reinhold and his brother Herbert and his wife Martha farmed the homestead until October 1942. In 1939, Konrad and Fredericka Bauer retired from farming and moved to Golden Valley with their children, Hulda, Olga, and Oscar. He worked hard at home and also worked as a hired hand at the Martin Kastrow farm to supplement the family income. Reinhold was born on December 26, 1917, to Konrad and Fredericka (Jose) Bauer on the family homestead located six miles northeast of Golden Valley where he also grew up. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM CDT on Thursday at Barbot-Seibel Funeral Home, Beulah. Burial will follow at Hope Congregational Cemetery, Golden Valley. Services will be held at 2:00 PM CDT on Friday, Mawith Pastor Kris Nyman officiating. Reinhold Bauer, 95, of Golden Valley, North Dakota died Monday, Maat Sakakawea Medical Center, Hazen.
